2007 There are three of them – one at the Women's Infoteque, one at the Women's Studies, and the one by the name Lezbib, owned by Kontra. Find out where they are, when they are open, what do they offer, and how to contact them.
The library is located in Berislavićeva 12,
and it is open for students on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2 PM till 9 PM, Ženska Infoteka (Women's Infoteque)
This library was founded in 1992 as one of the
first libraries of this kind. It offers nearly 2 700 books and 750 magazines
from the field of feminism, women's studies, women's movements, cultural
history, art, and women's rights. The majority of books is in English, German
and Croatian, but there are also titles in Italian, Russian, and Czech. The
library archives can also be accessed through the internet catalogue. The
address of the library is Varšavska 16, it is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays
from noon till 4 PM.
Lezbib – Lesbian library and archive was
founded in 2002 thanks to the donation made by Network East-West Woman. It
offers around 600 books from the field of LGBT theory, practice and literature,
as well as magazines, comics, DVDs, CDs, and videotapes on the same topics. The
library was originally intended for the lesbian population, but everybody else
is also welcome. The archives can be browsed through by means of on-line
catalogue. Lezbib is open on Wednesdays, from 6 PM till 21 PM, and the
membership is free. |
