The exhibition 'Reconstructions: private = public = private = public ='
examines the feminist perception from the 1970s: 'the private is the
public' i.e. 'the private is the political' using various positions
selected from Croatian contemporary art since the seventies, and
outside the feminist discourse.

In this essay I will explore the anthropological notion
of “non-places”, with reference to the related
essay by Marc Auge 'Non-Places: Introduction to an Anthropology
of Supermodernity'. I will apply this notion specifically
to the theme of travel, and how this is engaged within the
selected works of art by contemporary visual artists.

How Much Queer Work collective is gathering proposals...
The theme of the exhibition is 'Queer Work' and call is open for all techniques. The works will be presented in Istanbul, Turkey during the Pride in July 2009 (deadline for submissions is May 3rd) and in Zagreb, Croatia during Ladyfest Voxfeminae in November 2009 (deadline is October 4th). Chosen works will be later on presented on more international events and in agreement with artists may be used for promo materials. Send your proposals to:
